My daughter is two this year, and I'm so excited to go Christmas shopping for her!  Last year, she got lots of Little People stuff - the farm, the busy day house, the tractor... She really liked all of it and still plays with it.  For her 1 yr birthday, she got the Twilight Ladybug and absolutely loves it.  She figured out very quickly how to push the buttons to make the lights change colors.  And it can be used as a learning toy in the future, as it shines actual constellations on the ceiling.  For Christmas last year she got the Leapfrog musical table and still loves that.  She also enjoyed playing with the Fisher Price musical chair and the Fisher Price kitchen/living room (I this this year's version is a farm - looks cute).  We also gave her puzzles - big chunky ones by Melissa & Doug with brightly colored shapes and animals.  She likes those a lot, too.  Books where she could lift the flap and touch & feel stuff were a big hit, too.  The best ones for that age that I've found are DK books - Touch & Feel Playtime, Playtime Peek-a-boo, and Baby Loves Peek-a-boo.  Sandra Boynton books don't have flaps or textures, but they're a lot of fun.  My daughter is really into those right now.

Hope that helps!  Have fun shopping!!  :)

We haven't gotten anything for Christmas yet, but our daughter will be 1 in a couple of weeks. We bought her these gifts for her birthday. BTW, It doesn't have to be a "girly" gift for a girl to love it...I have learned this with 2 other kids...lol...

My daughter will be 15 months at Christmas. There's a huge block set from Target that I'm getting her for Christmas.
