How often do you bathe your baby?

I'm just curious.  I'm sure this has been asked before but indulge me.

Caroline is 10 months old and I usually put her in the bathtub about once a week.  I do "sponge bathe" her in between, but a bath too often dries out her skin.   I wash the stuff that needs to be done (neck, face, bottom, etc.) when it needs it.

She loves to play in the water so it's not a wind down for the evening kind of thing.  It usually gets her wound up.

How old is your little one and how often do you put him/her in the tub?

when my son was born i used to put him in the tub aroudn once a week. but around 6 months when i moved him into his own room, i wanted to create a bed time routine so i started bathing him either every day or every other day. i give him a bath, lotion his skin, get him dressed, give him a bottle, and he conks out good. now he's ten months and lately he has been getting bad diaper rashes so i have been bathing him every night and washing his bum in the sink whenever he poops. i think with my second one, whenver i have him/her, i will bathe him/her like ever 2-3 days cuz as long as i put lotion on their skin, it seems to be fine.

I give my daughter a bath usually every night

At first I only gave my son a bath once or twice a week.  I was worried it would irritate his skin too much if I bathed him too often.  But the past 2 weeks I recently started the routine of bath time before bed every night (he is 3 months old).  Occasionally I will skip a night if the timing doesn't work out, but I love that he smells so clean every day.  Plus, I love to stroke his hair, and when I do, it starts to get a little greasy looking (lol, gross, I know).  So washing it every day keeps it from getting that greasy look.

Once or twice a week. My daughter is a year old. Once definitely to wash her hair, twice a week if she gets dirty.

I have a 2 year old and since she was born I bathe her every day. She has super curly hair so I only wash it once a week {if you wash curly hair too often it dries it out} The only times that I've skipped a day is if she falls alseep before bathtime which has happened only a handful of times..  When my second is born I plan on bathing him every day as well..

**For all you moms who only bathe your children a few times a week. I'm just curious as to why. I don't mean to bash anyone by saying this but I find it kinda gross. My daughter had dry skin when she was a newborn but her pedi never said to cut down on the baths.. I've always made sure to use moisturizing cleanser for her like Aveno or Mustela and salther her down with a rich cream after her bath. And the bathing never made her skin any worse. Even I have really dry skin and exema and I shower every day..

My children are 3yr and 1yr, at this age they are get a bath/shower daily...for my 1yr son he's chubby and sweats a lot so there are days when he gets a bath twice.

When they were newborn until about 4mo they got a bath every other day, once they were crawling or scooting they had to get cleaned daily (sweat smell and stickiness). I use Cetaphil Cream on them after each bath and reapply in the morning after I wash their faces. This cream was recommended by our Ped and it works very well. It is very dry here and our skins chap so easily, our whole family uses the's strong to keep the skin moisturized but light enough to use on infants/toddlers too.

MY Ds will be two in 2 weeks, we do every other night and have for a long time.  It helped with getting him into the bed time routing, when we don't bathe we had another routine we'd follow so that he'd still know it was getting close to bed time.

Both of our boys have taken baths every night since the first day home- the oldest is 4 and the youngest is 10 months. They both have super curly hair and it gets washed every night also. Their bedtime routines: bath, lotion, pjs, bottle (for baby), prayers, songs- both asleep no later than 8:30pm.
