Can any one share some helpful remedies that could possibly help me to help my one month old son enjoy his bath time? Everytime I bath him he cries and screams as if I am hurting him....please help if you can, it hurts my heart to see and hear him scream during bath time.

Mine has always loved bath time, so I'm not much help.  Here's a bump for you.

It might be because he's cold. Try taking a washcloth and getting it wet in the warm water and then keep it over his tummy. When it cools, warm it again.

We had that problem with our daughter so we put a swaddle blanket losely around her before we put her in the bath once we got her in and warm up we would take it off and then was her and that work out really good we didn't have problems with bath time after we started doing that.

We have a bath tub with a sling in it. If I would put him in it after the water was in it he would scream up a storm. But if I put him in it as the water was running he just loved it. I think he liked getting used to the water rather than just being put in it.

Thanks Everyone for the great ideas....I tried getting in the bath with him tonight and as I gradually introduced parts of his body at a time into the water he began to calm down.....I also made sure the water came up to his mid stomach and talked to him while beginning the bathing process....so bath time tonight was a little better...I will definitely try some of the other ideas given to see which works best.

Oh I so feel you!  My DD is 1 month and from her very 1st bath till now she screams her head off!  I have to do it real quickly b/c she hates it soo much!  My other 2 kids loved bath time so this is little odd to me.  She hates the sponge baths, the baby bath, and the tub.  I use the tub now b/c it's easier to hold onto her since she's kicking and screaming through the whole thing.  I can get it done faster that way.  I really don't know how to help you since my LO still doing it.  I'm just hoping as she gets older she'll realize it's not so bad!  Good luck!

Thanks so much....I am hoping that he eventually he will grow out of it or I will find something that is soothing to him during bath time :)

When my son was a baby, he hated his baths when his grandma gave them to him, and cried but when I gave him baths he was fine...we discovered that my mom was making the water alot colder than I was...my baths were more on the hot side of warm...we found that he liked almost hot baths.

He will get used to it.  It may be too cold for him.
