so my daughter is 7 months old....she has been sitting up by herself since she was 6 months old.  she hasnt started crawling yet, but when she is on her tummy she can push both arms up straight, and she has recently figured out how to turn herself in a circle.  so she seems to be developing at a good pace for her age.....however,

she doesnt roll over yet.   she has done it a few times-she will roll from her tummy to her back, but everytime she has done it it doesnt look like she meant to...and it has only happened a few times.  so i am concerened that she isnt rolling, but dont know if i need to worry that much since she can sit up and is beginning to do what she needs to crawl.

when did your babies roll? should i worry?

My daughter has known how to roll since she was 5 months but she didn't do it and didn't like it until just a few weeks ago lol. She crawls and sits up too. I wouldn't worry about it. Rolling is not necessary lol.

I don't need to tell everyone what kind of mom I am - the smile on my daughter's face every day shows it all.

Don't worry about it my sisters baby was sitting up around 6 months and crawling around 7 but she didn't roll over till she was 9 months babies just do things how they want to, She's fine and she'll learn to roll over when she feels like it:)

If she has done it a few times, she probably just doesn't like it,

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I was worried about the same thing. My son is 6 months old and has been sitting for almost a month. He always rolls onto his tummy, but very rarely will roll onto back. I decided it's ok since he's done it before... I know he has the ability to do it and just doesn't. He is really trying to crawl, so maybe that's why he likes being on his belly?

My daughter was just the opposite. She rolled everywhere, and preferred rolling to crawling. So I guess they are all different.

I really wouldn't be concerned. Some babies skip steps, and I think a lot of doctors and "experts" just forget that each child is an individual. They have preferences and likes just as we do...and some babies just don't feel like doing certain things. He tried it, wasn't too impressed, and just doesn't care to work at doing it again. When I was a baby, I never crawled. I went from rolling around the room to walking. Everybody asked my mom if she shouldn't have me checked out because I "should" have been crawling already...but in reality...I had found my own way to get around the room, it worked for me...so I stuck with it for awhile. Then I walked right on time with no worries. I'm thinking your child is just doing the same! Good luck, and relax!

I agree with everyone else.  As long as she has rolled over before it is ok.  She may just not like it.  And it sounds like she is coming along just about on time developementally.  My son was rolling over at a day old, but didnt do it to often.  Maybe once a week or so.

some babies skip those  little milestones and go right to what they are interested in.  Since she can sit, she can see and get things better, and probably choses not to roll right now.  My dd went straight to cruising furniture and never really crawled at all when she was about 6-7 months old, so I say it's nothing to worry about... she has found an easier way that she likes better.  She would probably roll if she had to but to her, why bother when she can sit and grab things?
