My 2 1/2 month old is going to see a physical therapist today because he holds his head in a peferred position. Has anybody here been through this? More curious if this is just a "teach mom session" OR will they really start seeing him and working with him on a regular basis?

It depends on the severity and how early they catch it.  My DS had a mild case, had therapy for a few months and caught up and moved on.  Others it can take alot of therapy usually through the walking stage.  Be careful of flat head, plagiocephaly.  This is a related condition that also depending on the severity can require intervention.

The first session is usually an evaluation.  Good Luck!
