Is there really a difference between store brand diapers and national brands diapers?

I have found a surprising distance.
My DD breaks out in all the national brands and does well in the store brands. I used to like Walmart's brands but they just recently started making them different and I hate them. We use Targets brand now.

For me, yes, there is a difference. My DS has super sensitive skin and could not use ANY brand except Luvs. Not Huggies, Pampers or store-brand. My DD was fine, and I often used the Target store brand. Then again, all brands of diapers are extremely different. They are all built differently and some leak more than others, some tear, etc.
well, the only store brand diapers i have ever bought were the target Up&UP brand. i didnt like them. they werent as soft, or form fitting as the Huggies Little Movers we usually use. and every time she pooped, it leaked. and it left red marks on her legs where the diaper was rubbing her. so, my experience wasnt very good!i still have 48 size 3 up&up diapers here that i wont use! i usually go between the pampers baby dry, and huggies little movers depending on what i have a coupon for and whats on sale. i'll stick to the national brands.

there is a big difference!! we are PAMPERS ONLY buyers.. we only give the best to our little baby girl! My mother-in-law suggested buying the walmart brand 'parents choice' diapers, and said they are exactly the same. So one time, over a year ago, we got parents choice diapers. OMG THEY ARE HORRIBLE!! They leak sooo bad, don't have very good absorbency (especially for night time) and they couldnt hav been comfortable for my little booger, cuz they felt like cardboard!! They were hard as a rock! The only thing bad about pampers and huggies is they can give blowouts up the back (especially with breastfed babies), but the cheap ones do that too!! The only way to avoid that is to buy quality brand cloth diapers. We didnt like huggies as well as pampers because they seemed to leak a lot. Oh and now that my baby is in size 4 diapers, I have noticed Pampers diapers aren't as good as they were in smaller sizes.. idk whats up with that... im considering trying huggies in size 4, and see if they are good, but i just love my pampers, im a loyal pampers buyer lol! I even get their sensitive wipes, and always have!!
I almost always use the parents choice brand since they are inexpensive. They have worked wonderful for all three of my kids. I do occasionally use the national brands too when I can find them on sale. The national brands are usually softer than the store brand I get and the sides are often more stretchy depending on the brand, but the cost is so much. I am luck so far that my kids could wear any brand. I didn't really like the rite aid brand when I used them though. They didn't fit well. If I could afford them I would probably use the pampers brand diapers because I love how soft they are, but we can't afford to.
I think that there is a difference. However, since my daughter turned into size 3 we go with Target. It is cheaper and they do just fine. I do believe that the brand name are nicer but the Target brand is fine and we have not had any issues with the size. We she was size 1 & 2 we did Huggies which we loved. Really though it's just on her butt for a couple hours.

We use Huggies for my DD bu tnow that we have to buy a size 3 we are debating whether or not to go with a cheaper brand or not, we tried using pampers on her and she ended up getting a diaper rash and they werent as absorbent as the huggies. It'd be nice if the sold smaller packs like 5 diapers just to try it out. I hate having to buy 30 diapers to try them out and ending up not using them.
I am the same way. :) I tried the Target brand once because a friend told us they were just like Pampers. Um, NO; they weren't even close. They felt cheap and my poor baby got a horrible rash after one day in them. I ended up giving the rest of them away and went back to the Pampers Swaddlers. She now wears the cruisers and we've had zero problems. I love how soft they feel! :) (And we had the problem with blow-ups going up her back too but only during the first couple of months. I agree that it would have happened regardless of brand-we also had some Luvs that were given to me at my baby shower and we had the same problem. The only other time I've ever had a leak was when someone didn't put the diaper on properly.)
