What time do you give your baby bath?

My baby is 6 wks old.  We used to give her a bath mid-morning but then tried to change it to evenings so she will sleep better at night.  But she feeds continuously in the evenings and is quite fussy now.

The reason I changed from mid-morning to evening was that if I gave her a bath mid morning she seemed to take a long nap and I want her to nurse as often as possible during the day and dont want her taking long naps.

Any tips on how to manage this situation?

My DD is 13 months old and she gets baths every other night between 6 and 7 and is supposed to be in bed by 8. When she was that little we did the mid-morning naps thing and it worked out ok. She still nursed every 3 or so hours during the day and then every 4 to 5 hours during the night. We didn't switch her baths to night until she was 6 or so months I think. I would just try moving the bath to later and later during the day until you find a time that works best for you and baby.

I don't really have a specific time for it.  Just the evenings we are going to do it, it's at some point in the evening between sleeps :).  She nurses about every 2 hours during the day, sometimes a little more often (usually because she gets distracted and doesn't finish eating, so gets hungry sooner), sometimes a little longer.  I get a 6 or 7 hour stretch most nights, but then I know I am VERY lucky with that.  It was very unexpected.  The nights that I don't she is only up to eat and then back to sleep, so it's not a big deal.

I also chose to bathe my baby at night. We just kinda worked it out. It took about a week or two to get things to settle down but it definitely works now. She gets bath about an hour or so after eating dinner and then goes to sleep right after her birth. Good luck!

Also, I suggest on letting baby sleep when baby needs to sleep.  It's rough in the beginning but after a while, they will sleep more at night and a few naps during the day.

The party is Feb. 11 so we'll see you soon!

My son is 10 weeks and I give him a bath every night between 7-8:30.  He usually takes a bottle around 9...lights go out...music on (he listens to xmradio on my dtv everynight)...and he's usually asleep between 9:30-10pm.  We've been doing that since he was about 5 weeks old and it's worked out really good.

She is 20 mo old, and has gotten a bath every single night at 7pm. She's been on this schedule since the day we brought her home.

My daughter gets a bath after dinner every night at 6:30. When she was younger she got a bath every other night before going down for the night, the times were different every time per her napping schedule.

We let her choose her own naps and she slept through the night awesomely at that age.
