Ok so a couple weeks ago my 11 month old started shaking his head from side to side, as if trying to say "No"
He does it randomly and seems to think it's funny, because he has a huge grin on his face when he does it. He will also laugh and sometimes mimick me if I do it when he does it.
I am just wondering if this is something I should be worried about? I know he didn't learn it from anyone because it's not like anyone here goes around shaking their head lol
My son does that too. Hes 2 now and does it to tell me "no" but a while back he was just randomly shake his head all weird looking. It didnt look normal and i was concerned a bit because hes taken some spills down the stairs but then he stopped. I think i know what your talking about lol
Definitely normal! It doesn't necessarily mean that he had to pick it up from someone else though, because I never shook my head no in front of my daughter and she did it, and still does. It's just them learning to do something different and they like it. It makes them a little dizzy and it's fun for them. With my daughter, when she did it, I started to say no when she did so she knew what it meant and now when I tell her no, she shakes her head. I am in the process of teaching her yes now and so far all we have is her entire body nodding up and down lol.
I've noticed almost all babies do! My 13 month old started doing it when she was 12 months and doesn't do it as often anymore. The child care center I work at, the 12-18 month olds do it and think it's hilarious. Once one does it, the other 8 or so do it LOL.

It's normal. All mine have done it. My youngest is 15 months old and he thinks it is hilarious to shake his head no. He's been doing it since he was about 11 months old.
