So my fs is almost 3mos, hes on fomula and the dr said hes only allowed 24oz in 24 hrs but he said not to feed him over 24oz, but my fs acts lik hes stil hungry so my question is : Should I feed him more fomula or just give him water til his next feeding time? Also I have given him 6oz instead of the 4oz and he seems to be satisfied longer and doesnt act as if hes not gettin enough to eat (he eats every 3hrs)..
I agree with the above post. If the baby is hungry feed him. Unless there is a medical reason why he can't take more then give him what he needs to be satisfied. Babies will let you know when they are full.
I didn't FF, so I really don't know how much my DS ate at that age, but I nursed him at least every 3 hours. Feed him when he hungry. If you're worried about it, try just giving him a little 2 oz bottle in between a feeding and see if that tides him over for a while.
Also, never give a baby under 6 month old any water. Water can be very dangerous for an infant. It affects their kidney function. There have even been cases of babies dying who have been given too much water.
I still fed on demand at 3 months. Feed your baby what he needs. That's my advice anyway.
