do you let your baby go barefoot?

Assuming he/she is not yet walking, do you always have socks or shoes on your baby? Even in the summertime? My kids always had on at least socks, year round. I've seen barefoot babies out and about and always thought they needed some socks. What do you think?

I pretty much always have socks on her. The only time she is without them is if we are playing with her feet with her. I think she needs them to keep her feet warm. We dont do shoes though cause they are just a pain in the butt

DS hates socks on his feet if he does not have shoes on.  He will constantly kick his feet until he kicks his socks right off of him. If the weather is nice outside (we're having weird weather right now) I'll let him go barefoot when we're out and about.  I always have a blanket handy for him just incase there is a cool breeze going.

my son is getting ready to turn one. If he won't be walking around outside he goes barefoot as long as it is warm. I hate shoes and at least one of us can be comfy..lol

I never puts socks on my daughter before she could walk in the summer time.  And I certainly didn't put shoes.  I felt the money I spent on shoes could be used other places.

That being said now that she is walking (she is 20 months) she is never without them and has a TON of shoes!  LOL

My 9 month old who is not walking never has anything on his feet unless its cold out and I don't have a blanket. When they are learning to walk its actually good for them to be barefoot. My two year old usually always has something on her feet when we are outside.

LOL EXACTLY the same here. I never bought shoes for my kids while they were babies but as soon as DD started walking, she started her shoe collection;) She has like 8 pairs and is only 20 months :)))

If we're out she normally has on socks. I just bought her Stride Rite shoes a month ago. She's only taking acouple of steps but now if we're out it's shoes. Barefoot I normally leave for home or out in our backyard but that's it.

My daughter has had socks on every single day since birth. She only gets them off when wearing pajamas because she has footie pajamas.

If it's warm out I'll leave him barefoot but when it's cold he has socks on. I only put shoes on him when he's playing outside because he's just learning to walk so he doesn't really need them yet.
