For those that give LO's solids

SD is now 5 months and has started to eat solids (veggies).  she has been taking rice cereal in her bottle for a month and a half at this point and we have given her oatmeal as well.  She gets veggies at her 12pm feeding and her 6pm feeding.

I was curious as to what others do as far as the amount of milk (DD takes formula) you give to the baby during the feedings where they get solids such as fruits and veggies.  Do you give the same amount you nomally give or do you give a little less because they are also getting baby food?

My son started drinking less of his formula when I started solids. His ped said it was normal for him to slow down with his bottle feedings. He loves his solids so much that eats almost three jars of it!

I always gave bottles first and then food. In the transition to eating more baby food, they went from 40oz. a day of formula to 32oz. (4 - 8oz. bottles a day) but it was over a span of a few months.
