Did your water break on it's own or did the doctor or nurse have to break it?

My water was broken by my doctor when I was 7 cm. When she broke my water she must have touched DD's head because she kicked harder than ever!

Haha my DD kicked really hard when they did that too. They probably flinch just like we would if our entire environment starting leaking out from around us that fast. Lol. I was about to push when they broke mine.

during labor, i guess.  it never broke before labor, and i know my midwives would not have broken it.  i know with ds, the bag of waters was intact until his head crowned because it came out first.

The doctor broke mine when I was 4 cm. And I progressed really fast after that!

It broke on its own. I wasn't aware of it though, because it only "trickled". I had been in labor at home for quite some time, and had already been sent home from L&D once. I decided to go back again and give it another shot, and they told me my water had broken.

With my first the doc broke it and I didn't even feel it.  With my second I was just laying in the hospital bed and all the sudden it just popped, it was the weirdest feeling!

With my oldest, my water broke on it's own...that is actually the only reason that I knew it was time to go to the hospital, I didn't feel any contractions. With my baby girl, the midwife broke it when I was around 6.5 cm dilated.
