And if they sleep in it every night, is their door closed throughout the night?

All of our bedroom doors are closed at night, including the kids' once they have moved into their own rooms.

HECK NO! Are you kidding me. His room is right next to ours, our door is open as well as his, and we have the baby monitor (I have the video one, with live sound.) Also, our Dog Dakota (She's a yellow lab) She lays in the hall way half way between our rooms. She will sometimes sleep on the floor in his room, and when he starts to fuss, but not really cry, she comes into our room, and jumps on our bed, and starts waking one of us up, so we are not so shocked when he starts to cry. She's such a good girl! =)

BUT, we just moved Jayden (He's 8 months old) into his nursery 4 weeks ago. I have been TERRIFIED, of SIDS risks, so we kept him in his crib right next to our bed.

Hubby got tired of us waking him when we go to bed, or he gets up for work, and got tired of him waking both of us up. Added with the limited sex, while we are actively TTC, hubs and I decided it was okay for him to start sleeping in his nursery.

Our room looks so empty now without the Rocker and crib. =( Moved it back into the nursery. I can't even remember what we used to have there. My room feels empty!
