So I am trying to get my DD off of the Breast. She is 6 months, is there an easy painful way for her to get off?

Why are you trying to wean?

I don't know. I take mine off cold turkey, but I always have some clogging issues and whatnot afterwards.

I'd do it slowly to prevent mastitis, clogged ducts, etc. Drop one feeding per week. Replace those feedings with formula.

:) It's no ones business why you're weaning.

This is true, I was just curious. Maybe she isn't aware that the recommendation is until 12 months at least.

I don't breastfeed, so I was honestly curious.

Normally when a question like that comes up it is followed by "reasons you should continue to breastfeed" and "formula is poison." Which is why I said it. Weather or not she is aware of the recommendation makes no difference. She is choosing not to breastfeed anymore. If you truly want to, you will continue to.

I weaned at 16 mos. My goal was a yeardue to the benefits, but I am a sahm so it wasn't hard to keep at it. Everyone has their own reasons for weaning. I waited till I felt dd didn't need it as much and I knew I had to wean before trying for baby 2 (high risk for me to have preterm labor). My advice is to give formula instead of nursing one feed a day until you feel your lo is comfotable with that. Then do two, then three and so on. Babies need either formula or breastmilk till a year old. baby food at this point is more for the experience of eating than actual nutrition.

I breastfeed for at least 2 years, so I've never weaned a baby. I let them self wean.

If you don't want to continue, do it slowly to avoid mastitis.
