5 month old sleeping like a newborn?

He has been sleeping about 10 consecutive hours lately until the last 3 days now he's waking up every 2-3 hours. He's cutting two teeth but he has been for a little while now so I'm not sure that's it. What could be making him wake up so often?

My grandson is 3 and he has never slept 10 hours. He has never slept 6 hours. None of my children slept through the night until they were around 3 or older. Babies need to eat frequently because their tummies are small. I would be concerned about sleeping 10 hours and think 2-3 is normal.

Every baby is different! Some can go longer without eating. My 3 month old sleeps an 8hr stretch at night. As long as baby is happy and healthy it shouldn't matter. None of my LO's were the same. I also learned never to rely on a baby schedule they can change at a moments notice. Cutting teeth, growth spurt and a overwhelming day can change it all.

It happens. Teeth can do it, growing can do it, meeting milestones can do it. The only guarantee about sleep in a baby is that as soon as you get used to something, they'll probably change it up! :-)
