My ds2 will be 3mos on the 27th of april. Since about 2 weeks ive noticed he had an umbillical hernia. the drs were not concerned, they usually heal themselves with surgery only needed if not healed by 2yrs i think. However since about 5weeks ive noticed he had a groin hernia (inguinal or something) and when he got a sonogram to confirm, they found another. so he has 2 inaugural hernias in his scrotum that will for sure require surgery ASAP. its very serious in the meantime before surgery it could become incarcerated which means the bowel is stuck protruding into his scrotum and the bowel dies, or he could lose a teste or even die. i took him to the er last week bc i thought it was stuck (he would need emergency surgery) but they fixed it (temporarily). im losing my mind worrying about what will happen in the meantime, while fighting w insurance people and freaking out about my tiny baby being cut open and me being locked out of the room that he's in. im a sahm, breastfeeding too so we're attached at the hip, havent left him with anyone at all. anybody else gone through this? advice, encouragement, experience, something, anything?

((hugs)) My daughter had hernia surgery when she was 2 as well. It was very quick and went smoothly. I think it was scarier for me then it was for her.

MY DD had hernia surgery when she was 2 and it was really scary and it felt like it took forever, but once she was out and we got her home, it was almost like nothing had ever happened! Children are so resilient. What state do you live in? Are you taking him to a children's hospital?

My son actually last Tuesday just went through an ingural hernia repair as well as a hydrocele drain. He also had a herniated belly button when he was born (he's now 13 months belly is all good). Honestly I was so nervous about the surgery but it's really nothing.. Recovery especially for my guy was easy, is easy.,he still has his bandage on, but he's acting like nothing has happened and has been since Wednesday (day after surgery). But always, talk to your Dr if there's any questions! Good luck! Btw, in my recent experience,.the worst of the entire thing is giving him.to the nurse. I bawled like.a baby after. But once we were in the waiting room I was ok. And once I got into recovery to hold him I was much better. Surgery is less than an hour, keep busy with something I recommend. It will all be just fine! Pm me if you have any questions
