So what are your opinions on getting your childs ear pierced?

I would do what my sister did - wait until her daughter is old enough to say that she wants her ears pierced and to understand that it will be a bit painful.

That being said, my mom pierced my ears when I was 2 years old... :P

I don't do it but I think it is cute and I don't have any problems with it.

I got DD's ears pierced when she was 5 months old. Her ears ended up rejecting the earrings so we are going to try again when we gets older. I on the other hand had my ears pierced when I was 7 and it was an awful experience. I had to get one repierced when the front of the earring went through the back of my ear. Needless to say I sat in the ER for five hours and a dr pulled it out and it hurt like hell. I didn't want my ear repierced but I didn't want just one ear pierced either. I still wear earrings to this day. Just not everyday.

I got mine pierced as a baby. I wish I had done my daughter's as a baby too. She'll be more concious of the pain now :(  I don't remember a thing. Thank you Mom!

When they ask and we feel they can be responsible with them.

Waiting til she's old enough to make the decision.
