My girls have went to bed everynight on their own since two months old. I feed them say their prayers lay them down kiss them tell them good night and walk out of the room. They are 4 months now last couple night they wont go to sleep without me holding them rocking them. What can I do to get them to go to sleep on their own again? I am at a loss its driving me crazy and I dont want to get them into the habit of rocking at night.

2 moms liked this
My son is two months and he nurses or is rocked to sleep. He wont fall asleep on his own...I dont really expect him to, he's still little.

Babies need help to sleep... It will get worse before it gets better. Just wait for separation anxiety to set in!

I would never expect such little babies to fall asleep on their own- if they do, it's fantastically lucky for you :) but thinking it will last sets you up for disappointment and frustration. Rock them to sleep - they won't be this little for long, and they will start consistently sleeping without your help when they are ready :)

Rock them for now and as they grow up they will learn to just fall asleep on there own. My little one wouldnt go to bed without me rocking him and i did it all the way until he was like 11 months now he just falls asleep on his own.

Might be teeth or not feeling well. I agree with the other mommies who say do what you need to for now.
