So we are home with our little angel I know in the first 48 to 72 hours its good to let baby sleep as much as possible for healing.... After that time what are some good ways to combat day and night confusion?

Let baby sleep when they want to sleep.  Keep things bright and at a regular noise level during the day, and dark and quiet at night.   Breastfeed.

Mine just figured it out naturally after a few weeks. Everything happens during the day when it's light, and at night there's nothing worth staying awake for.

This. We are slowly working through the same problem with Liam right now (he's almost 1 month old.) :)

Yup, baby will change over time. Heck you will find there sleep pattern changes a lot the first couple of years.

I agree with what was already said, also at night I kept talking to baby to a minimum... Or anything else that would stimulate her. She is 8 weeks now and sleeping 7 hours straight :)
