That's a whole lot of baby food. How much are you feeding him? When dd was 9 months old she pretty much ate what we ate and once in a while I would make some homemade chunky purees. She ate probably twice a day at that age, she preferred breastmilk more lol.

Imo thats way to much food.
However we follow baby led solids and never do puree/mush or rice cereal.
cubed up fruits and veggies, avacdado, banana, sweet potatoe, steamed fruits and veggies (carrots, broccoli etc) egg yolk, toast. Whatever we offer goes on the tray and baby self feeds

I just make my own. One sweet potato makes 7 to 10 8oz jars for .89. A bag of baby carrots is .99-1.50 and it makes 6-8 jars. Try making your own veggies fruits can be a pain ( I still make them but I have a food processor) fresh green beans are .99lb 2lbs makes 6-8 jars. Steam or boil them then use a potato masher put in seperate containers and freeze half of them.

That was hard to read.
I had wic, but I just donated the food they gave me cuz my kids woulnt eat it.
At that point they were eating table food at step 3 food. I couponed and got all of it (mostly organic) for next to nothing.
the baby should only be having snacks of food thru the day. It should not be taking the place of breastmilk or formula

I remember taking a half of a butternut squash and making like 14 jars worth! I was like "holy crap!!!" lol and we only paid like $.85 for it. We did a lot of baby led weaning, but I liked having back up purees for the rare occasions where we'd end up somewhere that didn't have food appropriate for her.

I had to introduce solids earlier then planned due to his reflux. He was maxed out on meds and boy adding solids helped tons. I wanted him to eat organically and didn't want to spend tons lol.
I was shocked at the amount of food one sweet potato made! I bought two thinking there is no way this will make anything, boy oh boy was I wrong!!

Well WIC is only to HELP SUPLEMENT your food, not provide it all. Try cooking better with fresh vegetables and fruits. Budget better. There are cheaper baby foods out there then gerber. Or make your own. Not hard to do.
