UPDATE: well ladies the day came and I had to take Dd to a pediatric dentist. He confirmed she had 2 cavities and said that the laughing gas alone wouldn't be enough for her cause she's too antsy and will not stay still during the procedure. He said he would have to sedate her. :( I am so nervous about it. The appointment is for next July 7th... I just hope my dd will be fine. Please mamas learn from this and brush your kiddos teeth often!

I took my dd to the dentist yesterday and they found 2 cavities. The whole visit was a nightmare. She hates doctors/ nurses/ dentists and whoever she sees with a scrub. Well she started screaming and at some moment I thought she would faint she was very overwhelm. I felt terrible. She's the happiest little girl. Never cries, never whines but it was terrible. Now the problem is they need to fix the cavities ASAP. They told me there are two options: putting her in a robe to keep her quiet but she will cry during the whole procedure or giving her something to sleep her through he procedure.
I don't think the first one is an option. She will be traumatized. But I am so afraid of he second option. I need your help mamas. Tell me what u think and if this has ever happened to you. Thanks ... :(
I went through it with my oldest when she was 3.. not from not brushing the teeth.. but she had 3 cavities that needed to be filled..
worst experience ever.. don't get me wrong, the dentist, nurses, etc were great with her and with me.. but i was an emotional mess!!! Worried the entire time, even though it was a very basic proceedure..
Anyways, she got them filled, was a little tired and dizzy after it, but otherwise fine..
I WAS the one who was a mess!
I guess it's part of being a mom.. worryig so much over your kids, even on things like this that are pretty basic procedure.. but it's very emotionally trying on a mom.
She's 4 now, doing great.. no cavities since, but I'm sure we are doomed for more.. now that she's older though they shouldn't have to sedate her.

Have you looked into healing teeth naturally? Kids teeth are pretty resilient.
Maybe it's what they are using that is the problem. My son freaked the first time he had a cavity filled. The dentist told me sometimes the weird novacain feeling scares them more than getting their teeth filled. The second time he didn't numb him. Getting his cavity filled that time was a piece of cake. He didn't give the dentist any problem. I don't numb my kids at all now. They seem to do better that way.

Why does your 2 year old have cavities to begin with?
My child had a cavity at age 2... When her father and I questioned how could it be we were told that the bristles of toothbrushes often times didn't get into the grooves of such small teeth. It wasn't a big deal. (I thought we were horrible parents, but then I realized sometimes it just happens)
