18 month DD is sooo stubborn.

I was spoiled I guess with my DS (4) because he was such a well behaved baby.... but DD, ever since she was tiny just screams to attempt to get what she wants.  I know better than to give it to her when she acts like that, but she's to the point now where she just does not listen, laughs at "no", slams her face into the wall, throws herself on the floor (on my memory foam mats, of course lol) and is just acting like a little terror!  And she refuses to be away from me at all.  I'm a SAHM for a few more months, and I get both kids around as many people as possible, but I'm not quite sure what do with DD to get her behavior a little more under control.  I'm afraid she'll hurt herself... her most recent thing is climbing up on the couch and jumping.  I take her down, tell her no, etc... she just laughs and climbs right back up.... or screams.... smacks me away.... anything.  help?

My DS, 21 months old, is doing the same exact thing. I wish I knew what to tell you but nothing I do or say works. He LOVES to hit us or throw his toys when he is mad and when we tell him no it just makes him madder and he throws the biggest fit or depending on his mood he will laugh and do it again.
I have tried time outs, ignoring him, taking the toys away, you name it I have tried it. Nothing works for me. Hopefully he will grow out of it soon. Good luck.

 Redirection?

I try!  I've tried distraction with fun/yummy and removing her (putting her down in another room and walking away from the temper tantrum) and she just keeps on truckin.  She's a trooper, but UGH.

How are her verbal skills? Signing (and eventually saying) "please" and "thank you" have helped us avoid some tantrums. Have you tried time-outs?

She's pretty good with words, she says quite a few things, but back to the stubborn thing, it's only when she wants to.  If I specifically tell her to say please when she's reaching for a cookie or something she throws herself down and screams.  But if she feels like it, she'll just "cookie pease".  she's a moody little thing.
