Sorry. It does mean my brother who has a genetic medical condition can get insurance. This will allow him to get medical care and...live. It also means that all those trips to the emergency room by the uninsured will not cost me money in my paycheck (hospital employee) and taxes.

You know the cost and that it's not affordable? If having health insurance means no Internet doesn't that seem reasonable?

His medical plan actually helped me alot im only 24 so i still have my dad's insurence pan that will cover 90% of costs for my open heart surgery.

there is alot more gov help programs for medcail insurenc eit wont always be the best but atleast it will avoid a tax. i think if we look into our state programs it would help alot of ppl out a ton on being taxed xo

best of luck to everyone!

If your family is living off that little, the Obama law simply means that you and your husband will now get to be on medicaid along with your children in addition to the food stamps, etc your getting currently.
Many states are already putting low income adults on medicaid since this law passed a couple of years ago. It's not a new thing, the supreme court just upheld it. So you should actually be THANKING Obama for more free stuff!

It's the middle class that's screwed. We have always chosen not to spend $1000/month on insurance and paid out of pocket. Soon that won't be an option.

The way I see it...this gives my brother a chance to live. He could easily die because he doesn't have insurance and can't get care without paying up front. You can understand how being able to live becomes a big thing. He can't do anything to fix his medical issues. This is his only answer. If you both only bring in $600 a month...somebody needs to start working more. Are you working? This isn't about money for many but the chance to actually live.
