so this past week my son who just turned 5 months old had been such a whiney baby. he isnt crying just kinda making terrible like waaaa noises over and over. i feel like he might be teething but idk what to do. he doesnt stop unless im holding him but i dont want him to be over attached to me. right now he is sitting in his high chair literally right beside me pulling on my shirt and just fussing. anyone else experience this? he isnt hungry he just ate and woke up from a nap so he isnt tired either. ahhhhh

update: he is fine now. just teething. i finally see it underneath his gum when he let me look in his mouth. i figure he is gonna be pretty fussy for a while

:) M

All very normal. He should be attached to you you're his momma. Babies go through phases of anxiety where they need extra cuddles. Teething is uncomfortable and can completely change your babies demeanor(its temporary usually.) If you can hold him, the first 12 months babies for really strong bonds and its important to encourage that. You aren't spoiling him, your showing him you'll be there when he needs you. You will miss the clingy baby when he's an independent toddler that doesn't want to snuggle, so enjoy it while it lasts!

He maybe colic . Try boiling a onion for 10 minutes & letting it cool down until its warm put about 3 ozs in his bottle . Onion is a natural anesthetic & will calm his belly & make him sleep. Or you can try pepper mint water , crush 2 pepper mints up in about 4 oz of warm water shake it until its mostly desolved . It also helps settle his tummy. Hope it helps.

5 months old. He is still a baby and needs to be comforted.

You dont want him to get over attached? FOR REAL? He sounds like a totally normal 5 month old. My 3 month old hates for me to put him down. If I'm not holding him while sitting I'm typically wearing him. He isnt tiny by any means, but I know this phase wont last. One of my older boys was crazy attached as a baby, and a giant. At on his first birthday he was snug in a 3t. I wore him in my orgo till he was about 3 I'd say. He wanted to always know I was there. He NEEDED it. Now? He is an independant 8 year old who isnt spoiled or whiney in any way. But he still loves his momma :) you little guy wont be little long. Hold him, wear him, snuggle him, TALK to him, and have fun with him. It'll be over way to soon.
