I have a 99 dodge durango and no tether system thing.or locks to snap in using that type of system. What are some infant car seats that can be used with the base strapped in with just a seatbelt? I don't feel comfortable not having the seat locked into a base. Also I don't have 200$ o spend on a car seat. Thanks!

You need to have an anchor installed for any forward facing seats you use.

How old is your baby? Weight? Height? What is your budget? Do the seat belts lock?

I'm not having my.baby until November hopefully. How much and how do they instal an anchor? Do I.have to have one? I don't have more than 100 to spend and way.less would be good. If I could find a used one that wasn't in an accident id use that too. My kids are 9 and 11 and I had a britax with both of them for all their seats but I don't have money for that now and have an older vehicle than when I had them.

When they turn FF you will need to tether the seat in the back. Most cars have them even 99 models. If not, then yes, you'll need to install one.

Not true. i have two graco models, a nautilus and a my ride and neither of them require the top tether when using a seat belt. you just adjust where the belt is placed.

please please please... do not use a used carseat... that is not safe. it doesnt matter if they tell you it wasnt in an accident. it could be something as small as a little tumble off the couch to crack the plastics, if they left it in the car all the time, the sun can wear things out.

if you cannot afford a car seat... check with your insurance company some will provide one. Walmart & Target put them on sale often... or go straight to a convertible & save money in the long run!!!

But please do NOT get a used seat.

All seats can strap in with a seat belt and most car seats come with the seat belt lock clip for cars who's seat belts do not lock
