It seems like I do it every 4 months or so and get rid of all the happy meal toys and broken stuff. And also before their birthdays and Christmas (November/January birthdays).
Not often enough, but I did just do my 1 and 2 year olds toy box yesterday...I really try to do it before b days and Christmas, but I have been slacking. I have to do the older boys room and youngest daughters sometime this week...maybe I will do one of them today : )

Randomly... usually old toys go over to my sister in laws house who watches my son while I'm in school.
my 8 yr old probly does it every few months then we donate the toys to batterd womens shelter or a hair salon to give LO sumthing to do when mommy gets hair done . we also do the same with books we read every night he old books are being read to her baby brother right now so when we are done with them we will go thru them and donate them also in a few months . my sister and i have also done a toy swap where she brings hers over and i send sum over there . we also do this with her and my clothes we wear same size awsome . as far as baby toys right now i just put toys away he us bored with and then bring out few days or weeks later its like they are brand new again
