I would love to hear some activity ideas for a 1 year old! Both my son and I are getting bored with the same old stuff. He is not walking yet, but we are working on it. I take him outside for short periods of time because it is way too hot! Any suggestions?? ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated!! :)
you could try going to a playgroup. Our city school district puts on one, and they are great to get advice on things like this. Mine are only 8 months, so I can't really tell you what activities are good, but I'd think if you came up with things to help him practice walking, that would be wonderful.
For mine, I love getting out with them, so I'll probably do things like going out to walmart or to little botique shops, not with the purpose of buying things, but to give them practice walking around, and to help teach them not to grab things off the shelves while I'm not occupied with trying to figure out what to buy.
He really likes pushing buttons and really really wants to play with the computer. He has a LeapFrog computer but he wants the real thing. I bought him some crayons this weekend and he didn't care about them too much. Just wanted to put them in his mouth. I put some cheerios in a small box and he didn't care about it. I wish I could figure out exactly what would hold his interest.

Mine started coloring around that age and we got more of the interactive toys. Some easy puzzles, flash cards, building blocks, swimming.
What does he seem to like doing most?
At that age it's going to be a mix of color and shapes and what interests you. I'm sure he probably sees you do some work on the computer and just wants in. Mine she does. We have the little leapfrog phone for her as well. Has he tried the activity centers they make? It can be a bit expensive at first, but they work well. Since they light up, play songs, respond when being touched so it's learning as well.

I did show him how and he liked it but when I gave it to him to try he threw the paper on the floor and put the crayon in his mouth! He has a play kitchen, a Little Tikes Activity Bus, an activity table... other toys. He likes them but they just don't hold his interest for more than 2-3 minutes. He puts EVERYTHING in his mouth so I don't think fingerpainting would be a good...
She also loves crawling (she doesnt walk yet either) in and out of tents. She has a blow up ball pit tent and a princess vinyl tent that she loves going in and out of. She loves balls too to throw, and chasing her doggies. Long walks in her stroller or wagon she enjoys too.
