I want to go to the zoo with some family and friends tomorrow with my 11 week old son and one of my friends said that I shouldn't take my baby out in this heat. The forecast says a high of 104 tomorrow. I plan to have him in a shaded stroller in a thin white onesie and I will bring cold bottles of breast milk. Or should I heed her advise and not go out?
UPDATE: luckily I didn't listen to you all and went anyway and had fun. Although, I did play it safe we were only out from 8-10 am. I had cold water bottles and he was awake and cooing in his stroller most of the time. I put his stroller in the misting fans anytime we passed one. It wasn't bad at all.

can you go after 4 pm when the sun isn't so bad? Are you able to take frequent breaks to cool down in air conditioning?
I'd be very careful taking out such a young baby.

There are plenty of air conditioned buildings at the St Louis zoo.

I wouldn't do it. You have heat index on top of the 104... its 100 today here. Heat index by 7pm is suppose to be 107... I'm not taking my 1 yr old to the 4th of July stuff.

Zoos KNOW it's hot. Lol my bet is they have plenty of shaded areas with trees and benches to relax.
I took my kids last week to the zoo in 106 degree weather. We were there for 4 hours. Not once did anyone complain about it being hot. And no one got a sunburn, either (which surprised me). I was very happily surprised at how comfortable we were.
