Taking a baby out in this heat

I want to go to the zoo with some family and friends tomorrow with my 11 week old son and one of my friends said that I shouldn't take my baby out in this heat. The forecast says a high of 104 tomorrow. I plan to have him in a shaded stroller in a thin white onesie and I will bring cold bottles of breast milk. Or should I heed her advise and not go out?

UPDATE: luckily I didn't listen to you all and went anyway and had fun. Although, I did play it safe we were only out from 8-10 am. I had cold water bottles and he was awake and cooing in his stroller most of the time. I put his stroller in the misting fans anytime we passed one. It wasn't bad at all.

Just read an article. 30 dead from this heat wave. st louis had some of the highest temps.

Quoting Babicakes24:

yes they raised kids before air conditioning, know what happened when it got as hot as it is now back then? babies died as did adults bc they didnt have air condition. infants didnt live like they do today , back then. people moved to places where the summers werent too hot. bc they could light a fire for winters. do you seriously think before you talk or is it just randomness on your part?

Quoting Ahyb:

Lol don't get your panties in a bunch. I used the water in a cloth to wipe him down and he only drank breast milk.

By the way you all act I don't know how we raised kids before air conditioning,

Sorry, but WTF kind of update is that??  O.o  If you were going to do whatever you wanted to anyway, then why ask opinions?  And since just about EVERYONE said it was a bad idea (which it was, by the way.  You're lucky nothing serious happened) don't really know why you went.  That is VERY dangerous.  That kind of heat is dangerous for someone who IS able to tolerate it for a little while.  It is extreme for a newborn is ISN'T able to tolerate it.  Glad you thought it was worth the risk, just to go to the zoo.  And I really hope you didn't give him water to try an keep him cool.

Lol
I have 5 kids, they went out that young but not in that heat. I live in the same area as OP and no way in hell would I take my 11wk old baby out to the zoo in this heat.
It has nothing to do with living life as you put it.
The zoo is always there and it can wait until it cools down. Over 100 degree temps is not worth dragging an infant out in to see the new exhibit.
