My child was a victim of vacuum delivery. [Pics] **UPDATE**

The story was, my child was stuck in the birth canal. The first try was unsuccessful. The vacuum came off in full suction and caused a terrible cephalohematoma. The second go, again came off. It ripped open the previous injury. From this, she would not eat and she jaundiced. We used a feeding tube for what ever I could pump and, against my patient directive, they decided to bottle feed her.

I was told I could file for a settlement due to the malpractice to help pay for the consequential bills and formula costs. I have no idea how to do this.

**UPDATE**

To clarify, her's and my own BP was fine. Our heart rates were "normal". There was an emergency c section (So for everyone saying "Oh the baby was in the birth canal, they couldn't do a c section" You're literally absolutely wrong, or I wouldn't have thescar to prove it. I'll post that too if you must see it. The malpractice was using the vacuum because they were impatient, and not for it's intended purpose as a life-saving procedure. I had an epidural, so I couldn't move. They had me lay on one side the whole time because of a whole slue of crap, and claimed that laying on my back wasn't possible because of my epidural while I've known tons of mothers who can attest against that. They obviously fed her against my patient directive. If I wasn't producing enough SNS was an option. The lactation consultants told me to just shove my boob in her mouth, she'll latch. If you've ever nursed, you know this is not true as well. I couldn't pump. Unfortunately I'm one of those mothers that didn't have enough flow while pumping. After the fact, the LC department spent three hours with me trying to get her to latch, gave up and avoided me at all costs after that.

(Pic is three days after delivery)

My son also got jaundice from the vacuum. He now has torticollis from the same thing. It really sucks but to be honest my DS got off easy compared to your LO. I am really sorry mama. That should have never happened. I would sue if I was in your shoes.

If she was stuck in the birth canal, was there really anything else they could do? I know its hard that she got hurt, but when the other options death, getting her out and fast was most likely their main priority.

I'm very sorry for you momma, but if she was stuck n the birth canal, what else could they do! A c-section is not advised at that point in time. Baby needed out asap, so I'm sure they did the best they could. If they out him on formula against your will, why didn't you continue pumping? Maybe he needed more then you could give in the beginning to recover from the traumatic birth.
