My baby is almost 17 lbs. My question is... My rear facing car seat has a weight limit of 22 lbs. Which seat do I use next? Anyone got any useful links or info?

We have a sunshine kids seat.  We love them.  The company has changed names and is now Diono.

Join the car seat safety group. You will learn a ton and they can recommend the best seat for your child's measurements, your vehicle & budget.
You need a convertible seat next so your lo can stay rfing as long as possible. Extended rear facing is 500x's safer!

The most recommended seat in the car seat group lately is the Graco Size4Me70. It had a tall shell, which makes it the longest-lasting rearfacing seat on the market right now. It has 17" (or 17.5", I forget which) top slot, which means it will also last a long time forwardfacing. It's a narrow seat, too, so it should fit most vehicles well. It's about $180 I think.

I am going to get my 19 pound almost 16 month old a Graco Size 4 Me 70. It RFs to 40 pounds and FF to 70 pounds. The only thing you'll need to buy is a booster after he/she outgrows the FF limits.  I would say about 6 or so.
