I have been doing alot of research lately on autism i think my son might have it. now i have known for 2 years now and i keep taking my son to the doctor and asking about it and the doctors just shrug me off it just pisses me off. now i know what your thingking why does she think this well he is 4 years old and acts like he is 2 major speech delay has a really tough time transitioning to anything major discipline matters and so much more.everything i read on autism he has 4 of the symptom's also i have been doing things that are meant for kids with autism around the house and disciplines ways as well and he has reacted favorably to it things are starting to get better with it. my husband feels that im trying to diagnose him  myself! im only trying to become more informed on what my son has so when  walk in the next doctors office im gonna ask them to test for autism thats all am i going overboard? am i putting too much into it?

If your concerned about it then it's not going overboard. If you feel like a diagnosis would help then do what you need to do to figure out if that's the problem. IMO it's better to be informed and well aware of what's going on so that you can educate yourself on the matter and deal with it accordingly, if it's nothing then that Would fantastic but if it is something then at least you know.

He could have a mild form, but since kids develop so differently, it's hard to tell. I don't know you, but it sounds like you may have worried yourself into believing something is wrong. Be firm with his doctor so you can find out for sure.

I don't think you are over reacting. You need to do what is best for your child. Call your Dr and requst a referral to either a pedi neurologist or a developmental pediatrician. It usually takes quite some time to get an appointment, so the sooner the better.

My 2..5 year old DD just got diagnosed in June, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

They always says a mother knows best. Just tell the doc how you feel and that you want the test done.

I don't think you are over reacting. Make sure your dr takes you seriously, and maybe ask for a referral to a child psychologist, someone who specializes in developmental issues.
