Out growing bassinet. Crib? Cosleeping? Advice Please!

My DS is 4 months old and is out growing his bassinet.
We have a crib set up in the nursery but we would still like him in our room for a little while longer.
DH and I don't trust ourselves with co sleeping because we roll around too much and don't want to squish DS.

If anybody has any suggestions that would be great!

Also if you know a different way to co sleep. I don't know much about it and would like some personal experiences.

You can either put his crib in your room, or side-car in to your bed.

Crib is too big for our bedroom.
What is a side car?

That should have said "side-car it"... the crib, which is to attach it to your bed with the rail down.    We co-sleep, but have a packnplay in our room for her to sleep in as well... do you have a packnplay?

We used a cradle that MIL bought for her house.  However, that only worked until he was 6 months old.  When he started pulling up we moved him to his room.  Lots of people use the pack and play, but I just thought they were too hard.
