Just skip baby cereal altogether. It's basically worthless. Avocados or sweet potatoes are a better option.

As dramatic as this sounds, the baby cereal is basically just overly processed filler.

How is baby cereal worthless? It has iron & B vitamins that babies need. You can mix formula or breast milk (whichever you use), & that should help. My daughter HATEd the plain rice cereal, but loved the apple flavored :)

I give my 5 and a half month old daughter cereal mixed with juice. She loves it, so i say go for it! The cereal has a lot of nutrients that the baby needs anyway.

Per AAP and WHO guidelines, we are not supposed to introduce solids until afer six months, because doing so is linked to obesity, diabetes and food allegies. That being said, babies cannot properly digest grains until around a year of age. There are other options for first foods to give to a baby, which are easier for baby to digest and have more nutrional value and less unhealthy things than powdered rice cereal. *hugs* Best wishes!
