how many months was your baby when...

DD just said her first word a month ago at 12 months old.
"Hi." :)

Older 2 started saying actual words at 6 months. Youngest was concerning because he didn't start talking (with the exception of "mama" & "hi" that he could say by 7-8 months) until shortly after he turned 1. Now at 1.5 he doesn't speak in full sentences like his older siblings did at the same age or know nearly as much, but his vocabulary has really exploded and the 40 words he does know finally he says VERY clearly so even strangers can easily understand him. It's a slow process, but he'll get there eventually :-)

I would say at 6 months is when she started saying da da.. Now her favorite word is momma.

Mine talked a little ( mama, dada) at 8-12 months. Ds is 7 months and says mama, but it's just noise at this point. I don't really think he connects it with me yet.

My daughter was 6 months old when she said her first word,"Bye",while waving goodbye!

9 months

My earliest consistently asked for mama at six months old! My latest so far didnt start words until 14 months.

I believe it was about 9-11 months, he attempted to say banana. It was kind of like "ba-na" and then he just started saying a ton of words. Dog, cat, cracker, bird, blueberry (berr-berr)

My son apparently seems to have a speech problem though, and he stopped speaking a couple months later and the weird thing is that he never called us by any names like mama or dada consistently.

My oldest started talking early. Her first word was "cat" and she was about 5 months old. (She was pointing to our cat at the time, too.)

The other two were both about 6 months old. Kiki's first word was "dada" and Sarah's was "mama".

I'm curious to see what the twins will say when they start talking!
