Nighttime bottle weaning...

Will it happen naturally? Or just become a habit? My 10 mo old dr likes his bottle. If I take it after he's fallen asleep he startles and puts it back in his mouth. If I just pull it from his mouth and leave it in his hands sometimes he does the same thing. Most of the time he stays asleep.

I give him multiple bottles throughout the night. (Well, before his habit started I knew how much to give.) Now that he's started this I never know. I've discovered that by giving it to him while he is still in gis crib he stays there. If I pick him up to feed him he won't go back to gis crib for me since we've been cosleeping since birth. That's why I'm wondering how to wean him. :)

Am I nuts or aren't you not supposed to put a bottle in bed with a baby overnight? Doesn't it spoil? I never did it, always thought you weren't supposed to.  Seriously asking, not being snide.

I know that when I give my baby a bottle at night it is only with water, and it sounds like the other moms are saying the same.

1 mom liked this

I have the same hardship right now! The co-sleeping is a weaning process as well!

It is recommended to NOT put baby in the crib with a bottle. First it is a choking hazard. Second baby can develop cavities even in teeth that haven't erupted yet because they let the formula sit in their mouth.
