This wasn't given to me, but someone I know believes that babies can sleep through the night when they hit 10lbs and has left her babies to scream in the night at 1month because they can sleep if you leave them.
Someone told me that I need to just feed my dd sweet and fatty foods to help her gain weight. ??
And my fav, "Your son is gonna be a mama's boy forever if you don't wean him at 1year. " I'm sorry, but when they are babies, they are all mama's boys.
Baby will starve if you feed hed nohing but breastmilk.
Babies need cereal in their bottle.
Baby food isnt just for spoon, you can put it in bottle.
Never pick up newborn baby when cries, she will get spoiled. Let her cry.
Put socks on her or else she will get colick.
Cloth diaper waste of money and new compared to disposables.

Anyhow! I've gotten tons of horrid advice, but my personal favorite is...
My grandpa told me I need to start giving my breastfed baby formula because she's too attached to me, and what happens if I have to go to the hospital?! How will she ever eat?! *eyeroll*
That holding a newborn when they cry will spoil them.
I saw a mom here on cm tell another mom that she should wrap a blanket around her babies head to keep the binky in his mouth when he was asleep.
"If you let you baby sleep with you instead of making her sleep in her own bed, she'll think she's the boss."
"10 months isn't too young for spanking."
And my personal favorite, in response to my worry about the teenage years -
"When she becomes sexually active, just let her. It's her life, and if she wants to have sex obviously she'll be mature enough. That urge comes with maturity."
That caramel at 3 weeks would calm him so he would go to sleep.
That if you just leave him crying in his car seat eventually he'll stop.... didn't work!

sorry but I will not leave my newborn baby alone and crying he needs me. even now at 11 months if he cries I pick him up :)
