i want to get my baby's ears pierced and my mom told me that after she had her first shots i can get her ears done whenever i wanted to. she also said that latino girls tend to get their ears pierced when theyre really young and my baby is half hispanic but she looks more hispanic than anything. I got mine done when i was a baby but my ex wants me to wait until shes older like when shes a year old. does anyone else think that 11 weeks is too young?

Bump. I'm not getting my dds ears pierced til she's old enough to take care of them herself.

I think it's about 12 years too young. But to each their own.

Its typical to do it around 3 months. I personally will not wait until they are old enough to pull on them... the younger the better (3 mos is my recommendation) and yes she needs to be innoculated first. Ask her pediatrician when you take her for that well baby visit.

my dd just got them last week. she's 5 though, and had been asking for it.

And yes i think 11 weeks is too young, cant you just wait til she wants it? why the rush?

We had my oldest daughter's ears pierced at 10 weeks old. My husband felt very strongly about it.

Our house rule is that they have to be old enough to ask for them, know that it will hurt to get it done, and remember to take care fo them - - my oldest had hers done right around 5 yrs

I don't. But I'm Hispanic lmao I have all boys so...

I wanna tell you to ask your pediatrician if they would pierce. It's healthier than the shops, docs use new needles everytime, some shops just sterilize the same needle. And put a pen mark where you want the hole so they don't end up crooked or too high or the worst - too low.
