acid reflux and colic baby

I'm a new mom. I love it. It's the best job I've ever had. But it's a very stressful job. I have a 2 month odd little boy who has acid reflux and colic. My days can be rough. He refuses to take naps during the day which makes cleaning and cooking very hard to do. He wants to be held and has to be moving all the time. My nights to pretty easy, he sleeps through the night thank the Lord. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get him to sleep during the day?

Maybe have him cry a little? Worked for my 13 wk old- now she barely cries when I put her down. She usually goes right to sleep. But since your lo has reflux and colic Idk if you'd wanna do that. Maybe like 5 mins? Or sleep w him? Well good luck:)

Wear him.   Is he BF or FF?

Baby wearing. It will keep him close and free your hands for other tasks. Also, is he on anything for his reflux? DS had terrible reflux. :( He took Zantac, then Axid, then eventually Prevacid. The saddest thing I think I've ever seen was when my 6 month old LUNGED for the bottle of Zantac during a reflux flare. He knew what made him feel better. It was sad realizing my child lived in that much pain.

He is breast feed. He takes Zantac twice a day and he hates it. The doctor says he should grow out of it but his dad and his whole side of the family has it so i don't know. It brakes my heart to see him like this.

Most babies do outgrow it. DS sure took his time doing so but we were able to stop his Prevacid when he was 4. From time to time he still has a flare but now it's not anything a TUMS can't handle. Good luck. My best suggest is to wear him and keep him close. Ask about Axid instead of Zantac. It's more palatable and a lot of kids who won't take Zantac will take Axid.

My son is the same way only he doesnt sleep through the night. If you are breastfeeding try side lying with him in the middle of your bed so that if he falls asleep you can sneak out. A 2 month old cannot roll off the bed. My son is 4 months now and has outgrown his colic and the reflux is getting better. Hang in there.

You might want to call around for a chiropractor that sees children.  I've read that spinal misalignment in babies causes reflux.  If it works for your babe, then it would be an easy fix.  There was a video by a chiro that demonstraded diaper changing and cleaning of the baby's bottom by rolling him from side to side rather than picking his feet up and bringing them up to his tummy since that can cause spinal misalignment and reflux. Here's one I found.

And a hazelwood necklace. Or an amber & hazelwood necklace..
Either of those would help the reflux naturally
