worried about sids

hello i need some advise, i am going to be having my 2nd  baby in february and with my daughter we started her off right in a crib because she shared a room with me and my husband but with my son coming in february we will need to start him in a bassinet and i need to know if a playpen bassinet is safe for him to sleep in. i am worried about him gettin sids which is a major fear for me as it would be for every mother. please respond your opinion

My twins sleep in the grayco playyard (playpen) with twin bassinets and I was worried about the same thing. Their pedi said to make sure it's level, put them in the thick fleacy pajamas and only use blankets if we're swaddling them. She also said to use the head bumpers, like the ones you use in a carseat, to keep their heads in a safe sleeping position (just lay it flat on the mat) and to move them to a crib when they start rolling.
