My kids were  never bothered by it when they were babies. Then when they were toddler only Amelia would freak out about it but I have no idea why LOL. I mean I know it is loud but its not like she hadn't seen me vacuum her whole little life, lol. She got over it too though, now they think it is hilarious to run in front of it to see if I get them.

Ell'as 8 weeks and she makes a hysterical looking expression and her eyes follow the sound. She seems, imo, to be trying to figure out what it is. Of course it makes it worse that we moved fairly recently. In our old home there wasn't a stitch of carpeting all hardwood floors so she never heard it in the womb. She doesn't cry or anything like that, she just gets startled when it gets turned on and then looks like wth is that?!?! and follows the sound. I LOVE vaccuuming cause it makes me giggle the whole time!

My dd is petrified of it and the hair dryer. I can understand the vacuum, because I don't usually use it since we have no carpet, but the hair dryer I don't understand about. When I turn it on, she cries and backs up.

This. She also tries to turn around and sit on it lol

The noise doesn't bother him at all. As soon as he SEES me bring it out, he gets so excited, and tries to touch it while I am vacuuming. Lol

Doesn't affect her when she's awake. If she's sleeping, she sleeps through.

My kid runs around the room after it. He has been fascinated by the vacuum since day 1
