Needing tips on shoes...

My daughter is getting close to being 11 months old and is beginning to walk. When we are out and about she wants to get down and walk around. She isn't use to shoes, which I guess is my fault. Never felt the need for her to wear them, until now that is...Well I bought her a new pair of shoes, and she throws a HUGE fit when I put them on. Kicks, screams, cries. When you stand her up, she won't move. The shoes fit her, and from what I can tell, shouldn't be hurting her in any way. I'm sure it's a HUGE change for her. Any tips on how to get her used to them?

Thanks in advance!

Our kids get a pair of Stride rite shoes for their first birthday. They are not cheap but imo worth it. Maybe the shoes are too tight width wise.

Some kids just don't like shoes. My first hated them.

Pedipeds makes awesome beginner shoes!  Actually, it's one of the only brands that I buy my daughter, because I love them so much!  Sure, a little pricey, but totally worth it!  Check out their Originals.

Have you tried the soft soled shoes like robeez?   My kids stayed in those until 18mo or so.

Try socks with the skid things on the bottom.

This is what I use for my babies, too. They wear more like socks and they can feel the ground because they have soft soles. :)

I'd can regular shoes and go with a truly soft sole shoe.

1 mom liked this
They make skidders shoes. They are like socks, but have a rubber bottom for gripping. My nephew wore a pair when startin to walk and he loved them because it was an easier adjustment to shoes. My son has a pair he will grow into in several more months when he gets ready to walk.

Thanks ladies! I'll look into the shoes that you all recommended! And she does have socks with the grippers on them, but I don't think they're great for walking on the ground outside and other places.
