Both of my boys have been getting their flu shots since birth. Neither have had reactions beyond a bit of a sore arm.
The "flu like symptoms" that are experienced are typically aches and pains. Those are from the body building antibodies to the flu.
Please remember that if this is her first time getting the flu vaccine, she may need a 2nd one before it's fully effective.
We dont do the flu shot. But here is a bump. And why not look at the ingredient list, dont you want to know what they are putting in your baby?
Jace got his flu shot right before xmas and he had no reaction, which I was surprised cause he got 4 other shots as well a total of 5 in one day....he needs to go and get his other half of the flu shot......they did his in 2 dosages
Of all the arguments against the vaccine, that one is complete BS. Many of the others have merit though.
I have no idea why you'd take the risk of giving baby a flu shot at this point though, it's a little late considering the flu outbreak is widespread everywhere already. It takes 2 weeks to build up immunity after getting the shot, and in the mean time the immune system is weakened trying to fight off the shot. Also a baby getting it for the first time is going to need two doses spread out at least a month apart, so your looking at a solid 6 weeks for baby to have full protection and an immune system recovered from doing what it needs to do after getting a vaccine.
I'm very pro vaccine, but that seems like a pointless risk to be taking at this late stage in the season.

If you scroll down, you will see the CDC list of ingredients for yourself and see if you are comfortable with them.
