My dd will be 5 mos on the 30th and STILL screams bloody murder in the car. The whole entire ride. I figure shed be used to it by now. I've tried everything- put a shirt w my scent back w her, toys, mirror, light up mirror, music, paci, -- she's fine if I'm back w her giving her a bottle. But obv I can't do that when I have to drive! I was thinking maybe cuz the first month of her life she was in the nicu so never was in a car. My dd#1 loved the car. What do I do!??? It drives me crazy!! When should this pass?

Maybe when you switch her car seat.

Is she in a covertible seat? If not, I would try that.
We skip the infant seat altogether.

Mine was like this. He got better (not COMPLETELY but a lot better) when we switched to a convertible around six months. Babies-R-Us is having their trade-in sale right now... :)

2 moms liked this
My second child was like this. Around his first birthday he finally got over it. (no I didn't forward face him, and he'd been in a convertible seat for months before that. Idk what changed)

My 7 month old is slowly getting better. He still has his days tho. You can try changing her out of an infant seat but really there's nothing else you can do. Just hang in there!

I had one who screamed like that past his first birthday. (He has a lot of sensory problems and I think the noise in the car was too much for him.) I tried everything to no avail. I had to wait for him to outgrow it. Nerve wracking but it passed eventually.

Mine did that until we put her in a convertible. She's still happily rearfacing at 22 months.

My first son was like that and it was hell. We moved 1500 miles to Texas when he was 2.5 mths old and he screamed the entire 3 days of traveling. No joke. I switched him to a convertible at 6 mths and it still didnt help. He finally quit doing it around a yr old, even though he was still rear facing. Thank goodness my new baby isn't like that lol
