When I had my first baby I tasted everything I gave to her from formula to medicine. The hubby tought I was kind of nuts but like I told him I want to know what it tastes like before I give it to her.
Now with my newborn I tought I was'nt going to do that...wrong i'm the same maybe worse.
Do any of you mommas do the same??

Lol, I tasted my breastmilk outta curiosity, but that's about it. I suppose technically I tasted their food as well since they eat what we eat.
I don't think it's unusual to taste things firstthough.

No, I've never tasted her medicine or anything. Don't see the point. I make all her food from whatever im eating so I already know what that tastes like.

Nope. I do that. That's why formula was banned from my house. It tastes icky. Boob juice tastes like sweetened condensed milk! I do that with medicines and food, too. I tasted some Gerber Graduates my mom bought and almost barfed. No way Wyatt would like those! My baby has a refined palate! :)

My dd never eats anything I don't taste... I think it's a mommy instinct.
Same here!
Quoting dx1066:I do it too. I hate to think I'm feeding her something that I woulnd't even eat myself.

You should be aware that babies tastebuds are totally different then an adults, though.

Not weird. I'm the same way. If I won't eat it, I won't give it to ds. I've tasted my milk too out of curiousity. :)

Someone told me that once. I think I mainly do it for me. I guess it makes me feel better :)
