she keeps hitting her head

Alyssa is learning to stand so she uses anything she can to help her stand up. Usually she knows how to get back down but 2-3 times a day she loses balance and will fall back, first landing on her bum then she hits her head on the floor.(there's a rug on the floor) I'm not really sure if she's crying because it scared herself or if she hurt herself.I'm worried she's going to really hurt herself.

How worried should I be?

Not very...we have all concrete and laminate floors and ours survived just fine...the youngest figured out quickly how to fall without her head hitting the floor at all.

As long as she doesn't throw up or knock herself out, she'll be ok. Don't make a big deal about it or she could start over dramatizing for your attention. DS would bang head on hardwoods to get  a reaction from me when he was 9 months. Doc said they ar pretty tough cookies.
