2nd time this has happened to my boy :(

My son is 21 months old. He is circumsized, and for the second time, i went to change him, and there is a white squishy substance that is stuck in his skin. It almost looks like a huge white head. Last time, about a month or so ago, it simply wiped away. But this time it is stuck, and wont come off. It seems to be painful and/or itchy to him. Any ideas on what this could be?? Please help :(

They DO have SOME foreskin left. It WILL adhere of not retracted.

Totally different procedures for a circumsized vs intact babies.

Quoting Mrsfarr:

If he's circumcised, there is no foreskin and pulling back (or forceful retraction as it's technically called) the foreskin of an uncircumcised boy can cause a lot of harm and should never be done.

Quoting Amberleigh81:

It's the start of an adhesion. You need to gently pull the foreskin back and clean that area. You shpuld really do that on a regular basis with a circumsized boy. My son had that once. Use lube (coconut oil works well) so it's not painful, and if it is really adheased, you might have to pull it back in stages. If it starts to get red or inflamed, go to the doctor. :)

Not all boys have some skin left.

Oh geez.

Yes, some boys have less foreskin than others when circumsized. OP was asking about her boy's condition and you are not providing any helpful information. She didn't ask about intact babies. She didn't ask this to become a debate.

OP, look up penile adhesion, but don't freak out. Most are easily remedied the way I described. If in doubt, call your doctor.

Overreact much?
I probably didn't provide any helpful information to OP because I was talking to you. I'm not even debating. I just shared some information. Sorry you took what I said harshly. Maybe you're having a bad day? Hope it gets better for you.
Your original wording just confused me a bit because I've never actually seen a circumcised penis where any skin was left. I didn't know adhesion could happen. That's the only reason I even said anything. Normally, I just back out of circumcision posts because I will turn it into a debate and I don't want to. Again, sorry if I sounded harsh, it was absolutely not my intention.

Well good. I am glad you're not trying to debate. :)

And you learned something about circumsized boys, too! It's actually really important to retract and clean any foreskin left on a circumsized boy to prevent adhesions. It's a relatively common complication from circumcision. Telling moms of circumsized boys NOT to retract can lead to adhesions that have to be resolved by surgery or recircumcision, so you don't want to tell someone information that is harmful.

No hard feelings. I just want this mama to have good information about her child's possible condition. :)

Learning is fun.
That's pretty much the reason I said what I did about forceful retraction. Some people think it's ok to pull the skin back and it is quite the opposite. I just wanted to jump in incase someone who had an uncut son came by and read it and thought it might be ok. Just trying to keep some boys safe.

My son had problems when he was a baby after his circumcision..what you are seeing is most likely smegma..it gets really sticky and sometimes the penis gets stuck..my son got really red and irritated in the area..his pedi simply pulled it back because I was too scared to do it..make sure you clean it well with water when you give him a bath and you can apply Vaseline..that's what his pedi recommended..they never saw it as a concern but it scared me because poor thing was all red and it looked painful..he had it for some time so we had to teach him to always clean himself well

Use vaseline to soften it.
