Im thinking about putting my 9 month old daughter in swim lessons at the ymca. Its obviously a parent child swim class. Would you or do you currently have your babies in swim lessons? Im also putting my 4 year old son in swim lessons because hes terrified of letting go of me in the pool even with a flotation device on and im thinking maybe its because i didnt start him in lessons when he was alot younger thats why im thinking about putting my daughter in a class.
I would but both my kids were in a pool learning from a very young age. Dd was 3 months ( April baby). Ds was like 7-8 months. ( September baby). It is especially imoortant if you have a pool of they are around one often.
i use to be all for it, until i read that kids under the age of 5 that know how to swim are more likely to drowned because u think that they are safe cuz they know how to swim and they arent afraid of it so they are more likely to be put in a situation where a accident can happen.
Yes I'm in swim lessons with my 2.5 year old and I wish we would have started sooner! He hates putting his ears in the water so we can hardly get him to lay on his back. Lol there is an infant in the class that is probably around 10 months old and he loves it. He lays flat on his back and splashes himself in the face. Never seen a kid so happy in the water!
