What is your opinion about daycare?

I avoid it at all costs. but have put my youngest in a small in home of a lady i know for an hour when i needed it. She was almost always the only one there at that time. If you have to find a good in home place.

I agree that it helps development. I would prefer to wait until our kids were 2 years old but I am a working mom and it's not feasible. DS (7 weeks Wednesday) just had his first day today. He goes to a family daycare where it's a woman in her home who also watches 2 other babies (18 months old).

I'm always confused as to why people say " children need daycare".
Quoting Liudmyla:I am a SAHM but my son went to day care after he turned 2,5 (for 7 month) and it really helped his development. I think at some point children need day care.

Well I've been doing licensed childcare out of my home for 9 yrs. So I think.its great. I have a bad view point on centers.

Same here. I understand if it's a necessity, but putting your kids in daycare for the sake of having someone do something you as a parent should be doing is just strange lol.
