Well just found out this baby, due March 31 but pretty sure he's coming any day now, is also face up! I'm so scared. They said do a lot of rocking on hands and knees, especially in early labor. I've also heard some people say it wasn't that bad of an expierence (laboring/delivering a Face up baby) and some say it was the worst. So any tips!? What helped during labor? Any babies turn right before going into labor or while in labor? Thanks mamas!
Both my first two were. With my first my midwife never even brought it up. I had back labor and we found ways to ease the discomfort. We tried to get her to flip to help ease the discomfort to. But as soon as she would I would move to comfortable positions she would just go right back. So we just worked on what was comfortable to me. I pushed her out in 30 mins and got a 3rd degree tear but the tear was because of me sitting on the birthing stool. We all knew I would. But it was the only comfortable spot at the time.
My second was also this way. My Dr tried to scare me with you will have awful back labor and it will take a long time to push. I told her well my last was not that hard and she was sunny side up. It all just depends on the position I push in and it can also be baby. So we will see when we get to that. Well I had an epidural with her and regret it. I could not move to ease the discomfort and well bugging my nurse and other nurse with the noise I was making because of it. She kept saying to push the button for the epidural it will take it away. Uhmm hello women, it is not going to take away pressure on my back. She drove me nuts. Well I pushed her out in 20 mins.
Be careful how you sit. Reclining puts baby in a posterior position. Rock on hands and knees. Sit straight up on a ball. Having good posture puts your body in a good alignment where its uncomfortable for baby to be posterior and comfortable the normal way.
Best wishes to you!
My oldest was sunny side up. 36 hours in labor (26 of those in the hospital), 3.5 hours of pushing in several positons and trying everything except forceps, we ended up in the OR.
